In the area of CPM projects, different organisational forms make sense depending on the size of the project: characteristics can range from the classic waterfall organisation to an agile organisational form. An agile project organisation has the advantage of being able to react more quickly to external changes in a dynamic environment. Here we recommend the SCRUM process model because this agile methodology can be applied flexibly to various projects.
The roles in the SCRUM process: The SCRUM Master is responsible for the methodical implementation, consideration of the time restrictions and for compliance with the defined procedure. The PRODUCT OWNER provides completed work packages, so-called user stories. This makes it clear which tasks are to be completed, how much time they each take and in which order the tasks are tackled. A user story describes a clear use case from the end user’s point of view. The DEVELOPMENT TEAM is responsible for the technical implementation of the user stories.
The development team implements the work packages in short development periods, known as sprints, which usually take between 2 and 3 weeks. These partial functionalities of the final product are made available at the end of a sprint. This enables timely testing and provides a good basis for discussion with the product owner and the development team in order to define and implement further sub-projects.
